SYNOPSIS:

The future. Humanity has spread across the universe.
Distances between inhabited systems are astronomic.

The tether that holds civilisation together in this vast ocean of space is known as THE MASTER BLOCKCHAIN.

It is a public record of information that requires a constant stream of updates delivered between EARTH and her COLONIES. However, transmitting this vital information is impossible due to the universe’s rate of expansion.

The task falls upon couriers who take data tapes on board starships with FASTER THAN LIGHT drives to inhabited systems. These voyages through HYPERSPACE are fraught with great danger and uncertainty.

Sponsored by the CENTRAL GOVERNMENT, small crews compete against each other to deliver the data. The reward for finishing in first place is priced according to the distance travelled. There is no reward for coming in second.

Despite how far apart humanity has grown, despite the differences between languages and cultures, these crews are known across the universe by one name.
